Makin’ Strides for Strays Walkathon

Mark your calendar for our 29th Annual Makin’ Strides for Strays Walk-a-thon! After 2 years of having to have this event virtually, we are finally able to walk in person again! Come out on May 1st, 2022 to Naperville Central High School to join in a day of family fun that supports a great cause. The day consists of a 2.5 mile walk through downtown Naperville, music, vendors, food, and canine competitions. Furry family members are welcome!

Pledges:
• There is no registration fee for the walk. However, we
encourage all participants to get pledges or make a  donation for their participation as it is a fun and simple way to support the animals for which we all care so much.
• Our online donation system makes it easy! Challenge your friends and family to raise the most money or create a team to raise funds together.
• Don’t forget to check with your employer about matching gift programs!

Fun and Activities:
• The 2.5 mile walk begins at Naperville Central High School, winds through downtown, and ends back at the start line.
Beverages, bones, dog curbing materials, and first aid are provided along the well-marked route.
• Be sure to check out our vendors near the start line as each of them is a dedicated supporter of A.D.O.P.T.!
• Enjoy music by DJ MROK and snacks provided by our wonderful sponsors.
• Join us after the walk for food and exciting canine competitions! Will your dog be a winner?!
• Keep an eye out for some special canine and feline A.D.O.P.T. residents who are looking for their purr-fect fur-ever homes!

Reminders:
• Check-in time is 8:30am and the walk begins at 9:30am.
• Retractable leashes, rollerblades, and skateboards are not allowed.
• We welcome dogs that are vaccinated, altered, non-reactive, and are comfortable in large crowds to join us at the event.
• Please use good judgement regarding the outdoor
temperature. Be sure your dog does not become overheated and be alert to your dog’s physical condition during the walk.
