Sexual Assault In Your Communities

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month: 1 in 5 women, 1 in 71 men will be sexually assaulted within their lifetimes, yet only 5-20% of rape cases are reported to law enforcement and an even smaller number are prosecuted.  Indivisible Naperville will be hosting a panel presentation on sexual assault featuring the following presenters:  Kerry O’Connor, Sexual Assault Nurse Evaluator (SANE)Coordinator for Edward Elmhurst Hospitals: Colleen Zavodny, Coordinator, Advocacy & Crisis Intervention Services, YWCA Chicago’s Rape Crisis Center; Madeline Thompson, victim of an attempted drug-assisted sexual assault; Marie Czech, Will County Assistant State’s Prosecutor; State Representative Maura Hirschauer; and Laura Wlch, President of Illinois NOW.  Registration is available at this link bit.ly/3mtoUI0 or visit the announcement section of the Indivisible Naperville Facebook Page.
